IMTS show a success!

wet blasting for edge preparation of cutting tools, hobs, saw blades

After a busy week in Chicago our application specialists have returned home from 2014’s IMTS show.

This year’s theme was “Come Together” with the show inviting over 100,000 decision makers to come along and see the latest technologies that will help find answers for their manufacturing challenges.

With this in mind, our new Sabre wet blasting system for the edge preparation of cutting tools was in the spotlight. Having had its European launch at GrindTec the IMTS show gave good opportunity to introduce the Sabre and our new representative to North America.

As visitors were there to see advanced manufacturing technologies the Sabre was, again, very well received. Making use of several patented features and incorporating controls found on our full scale production wet blasting machines; the Sabre is proving to be a very versatile unit that fills a gap in the market.

Several comments were also made about the hybrid functionality of the Sabre. Enabling users to process a range of tools from indexable inserts to round shank tools and cutting hobs to saw blades all within +/-5um of specification is highly valued within the industry and makes for a world leading product.
