Vapormatt, IMTS 2014, Wet blasting

Vapormatt will be introducing its new wet blasting system, the Vapormatt Sabre, in the USA at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS), September 8-13 2014. The Vapormatt Sabre has been developed due to high demand from small to medium volume manufacturers, coating centers and R&D facilities for a cost-effective, high performance wet blasting tool to increase output quality on a range of cutting tools.

The unique nozzle formation of the Sabre focuses blast guns on the faces and cutting edges delivering consistent and controllable results. Total coverage of tools is ensured, offering edge radii within +/-5 micron (0.0002”) tolerance of specification and a much improved surface for coating adhesion as a recent Vapormatt white paper explains

Because it carries an option to fit both Y and X axis nozzle arrangements, the Sabre offers not just customization opportunities but also hybrid functionality. In this one unit, round shank tools, ranging from 3mm to 30mm (0.118” to 1.81”) diameter and 46mm to 307mm (1.85” to 12.08”) in length, can be processed but so too can cutting inserts and the Sabre can hold up to 4 Wendt or 3 Manz trays at a time. With a footprint of just 3.28m² (35.3ft²), the Vapormatt Sabre saves space too.

Having already generated a high level of interest throughout the world, Vapormatt’s attendance at the IMTS allows interested customers the ability to learn more about the Sabre by speaking with one our application specialists.

IMTS, which takes place at McCormick Place, Chicago, IL is the 30th edition of this premier manufacturing technology show in North America. It will feature 1,900 exhibiting companies in category pavilions including Metal Cutting, Tooling and Workholding Systems, Machine Components/Cleaning/Environmental and Abrasive Machine/Sawing and Finishing.
