Profelis automatic wet blasting machine

Your production line runs continuously. Your surface finishing process should too. For manufacturers of aluminium and copper feeder wire, carbon and tool steel wire, stainless steel cable, bandsaw blades, carding wire, and memory wire, inline cleaning that generates dust, acid waste, or inconsistent finish creates a cost that compounds with every metre of product. The Profelis is the only purpose-built inline wet blasting machine for continuous products. Enclosed, self-contained, and configurable left to right or right to left, it integrates into existing lines without redesign. Every machine is validated against its agreed specification before it leaves us.

Built for continuous product

The Profelis was designed from the outset for one purpose: uniform 360-degree wet blasting of continuous product at production line speeds, fully enclosed, without interrupting the line. Four blast guns at 90-degree intervals deliver complete coverage as standard. Eight guns at 45-degree intervals are available where throughput or surface uniformity demands it.

What alternatives cannot do

Chemical pickling removes scale but cannot hold a specified Ra value. Acid concentration, bath temperature, and dwell time all vary, meaning surface removal depth varies with them. Dry blasting cleans but re-contaminates: airborne particulate settles back onto product that has just been processed, and open blast systems cannot be integrated cleanly into a continuous line. Brushing and belt sanding drift as consumables wear, so the finish at the start of a production run differs measurably from the finish at the end. None of these processes is self-contained. All of them create a liability, whether in acid waste disposal, airborne particulate, or inconsistent surface quality, that the Profelis does not.

Why Vapormatt

Vapormatt invented inline wet blasting for continuous product. That depth of application knowledge is built into every Profelis.

  • Process range: The Profelis does more than descale or etch. Proven applications include non-specular finishing of overhead power cable for improved current-carrying capacity, reactive surface creation on submarine communications cable for outer layer bonding, graphite and drawing soap removal from tool steel wire, heat scale removal and edge honing on carding wire, oxide and lubricant removal from aluminium and copper feeder wire ahead of rotary extrusion, and surface preparation of memory wire without dimensional change or micro-crack risk.
  • Micro nozzle capability: Vapormatt's patented micro nozzle technology, configured within the Profelis, processes wire down to 1mm in diameter, demonstrated on tungsten wire and carbon fibre feedstock rod. No brushing, pickling, or dry blasting system operates reliably at that scale without surface or dimensional risk.
  • Closed-loop containment: Fully enclosed and dust-free, with no acid waste streams. Blast media and rinse water recirculate internally. All removed contaminants stay within the machine, with no airborne particulate reaching the surrounding line or recontaminating finished product.

Vapormatt's full suite of patented process technology underpins the Profelis.

The Vapormatt Promise: the machine meets the agreed specification, or we make it right.

The bottom line

The Profelis is the only off-the-shelf machine purpose-built for inline wet blasting of continuous product. Every alternative process either generates a compliance liability or cannot hold a consistent surface finish at production speed. The decision to act now is the decision to stop absorbing that cost.
