Innovative wet blasting from the Oncilla at IMTS 2018

Vapormatt Oncilla launch a IMTS

After much anticipation, the new Vapormatt Oncilla was unveiled at the IMTS show held at McCormick Place, Chicago, USA. The international show attracted visitors from around the globe to see the latest innovations from over 2,500 exhibitors, among them the innovative wet blasting from Vapormatt.

Without a quiet day, the Oncilla attracted a lot of attention from tooling manufacturers looking to improve the quality of the edges and surfaces of their solid round tools. As a departure from traditional methods of wet blasting round tools, the Oncilla offers a modular design featuring gantry robotics and energy efficient micro nozzles.

Commenting on the show, Marcus Hamilton – Business Development Engineer of North America, explained:

"The Oncilla has been very well received after an intensive period of development. The feedback has been highly positive and confirms that our collaborative and market-led approach to new product developments has paid off."

The innovative modular design of Oncilla offers customers a wide range of options, enabling them to select the machine that meets their specific needs and investment criteria. Combining all processes into a single, self-contained machine eliminates the current need for customers to use multiple machines for tool finishing. This helps our customers with saving cost, part movement, human intervention, complexity and reducing the overall factory footprint.

Marcus concludes:

"Having the modularity in design has allowed us to launch not one, but three standard configurations. This means the Oncilla range is well adapted to all sizes of companies and applications."

The Oncilla will continue its global release at the JIMTOF show in November, with an open house also being held at Vapormatt's new innovation centre in early 2019. For more information about the Oncilla range, visit the machine page or get in touch with our Business Development Engineers today.
