A surgical or dental instrument is only as safe as its surface.

A selection of surgical instruments

A burr on a scissor jaw. A finish too rough to sterilise reliably. A batch that varies from the last. Each one is a compliance risk, and each one traces back to how the instrument was finished.

Wet blasting deburrs, cleans and finishes instruments in one automated step. With glass bead, it delivers 0.25 to 0.6µm Ra, well below the 0.8µm Ra hygienic-design benchmark, with no embedded abrasive.

For instrument manufacturers moving on from manual finishing, the Vapormatt Puma+ is the natural next step. Recipe-driven cycles, selected at the HMI, mean every batch runs the same way. Adjustable blast pressure protects fine jaws, hinge pins and thin sections. Radial, Vertical and Barrel configurations cover everything from scalpel handles to small dental components, all in a stainless steel cabinet with a medium footprint that suits busy production areas.

Before your machine leaves us, we test it, often on your own instruments. A dedicated project leader stays with you from order to installation.

We brought wet blasting to the world. Decades on, it’s still our sole focus, so you get a process built to support ISO 13485 and the FDA’s Quality Management System Regulation validation.

Tell us the instrument, material and target Ra, and one of our applications engineers will recommend the right process and machine.
