The benefits of wet blasting power cable

Applying a non-specular finish to overhead power cable the environmentally friendly way: Instead of using powerful chemicals, as typically used in pickling processes, or producing dusty hazardous environments that are associated with dry blasting, our Profelis wet blasting machine (or vapor blasting machine to give it its other name) creates a non-specular finish on power cables using water, an abrasive and compressed air.

Abrasive particles are contained within the water, so there’s no dust and water is recycled for rinsing to make the whole process as environmentally friendly as possible.

BTW, a non-specular finish is important for power cables as it helps increase emissivity which, in turn, increases the cable’s current carrying capacity. It also reduces the visual impact of the cable.
