Pilana Metal, a Czech manufacturer of bandsaw blades, has introduced wet blasting into its manufacturing operations – and as a result has seen a fivefold boost in line speed.

This month Vapormatt made an appearance at the JIMTOF show for the third time. Presented as one of the largest machine tool fairs on the planet over 140,000 people attended the 6 day event in Tokyo’s Big Sight exhibition centre. 

Having developed a strong presence in the Japanese tooling market Vapormatt’s Distributor, Eurotechno, had set up a large booth showcasing a range of complementary technologies for companies in the cutting tool industry. 

For the third time, Vapormatt will be presenting their wet blasting equipment for edge preparation to the Japanese market. The 28^th Japan International Machine Tool Fair (JIMTOF) provides visitors the opportunity to see a range of cutting edge technologies and the latest innovations in the machine tool industry. 

Vapormatt, the world’s leading wet blasting company, have recently returned from the GrindTec show in Augsburg, Germany. Over the course of 4 days visitors from Europe and beyond were able to see a range of technologies to help improve their production processes.  

Exhibiting for the 4th time Vapormatt presented the range of wet blasting applications that were available for the manufacturers of cutting tools. This included the preparation of gear cutters and taps to the edge rounding of boring tools and end mills as well as carbide inserts. 

Vapormatt, the world’s leading wet blasting company, will be exhibiting at GrindTec 2016 which takes place between the 16th and 19th March 2016 in Augsburg, Germany.

Vapormatt, a world leading specialist in wet blasting for surface preparation and finishing, has signed a new distribution agreement with NGL Cleaning Technology SA to supply a chemical that prevents cobalt leeching during the wet blasting process. 

Vapormatt has launched a new washing and drying machine,  the Vapormatt Ocelot, which is designed to both clean and dry wet blasted cemented carbide inserts at one station prior to coating. This patented innovation from the world-leading wet blasting specialist significantly reduces washing cycles and drying times while also simplifying the process.

The increasing performance demands on machine tools and rising market competition has driven a need for a greater understanding of the manufacturing processes. To produce a high quality and successful cutting tool four elements must be considered. Until recently most consideration has been given to the substrate, geometry and coating processes with a large understanding and several established technologies available. The fourth element, edge preparation, has only recently attracted a wider interest.
