A Czech manufacturer of saw blades says that switching from dry to wet blasting has boosted product quality and output

Pilana Metal, a Czech manufacturer of bandsaw blades, has introduced wet blasting into its manufacturing operations – and as a result has seen a fivefold boost in line speed.

The 28th Japan International Machine Tool Fair (JIMTOF) provides visitors the opportunity to see a range of cutting edge technologies and the latest innovations in the machine tool industry. 

New wet blasting technology a success at MSV show 2016

Visitors to the MSV show were able to see, for the first time, wet blast technology in the Czech market. Wet blasting is a strong alternative to dry sand blasting with clear benefits such as improved surface finishes. The machines are made by Vapormatt in the UK and have been sold all over the world. Vapormatt’s Agent, IPP Praha, had a Panther wet blasting machine on display at the Brno fair this year.
