Our in-line Profelis wet blasting system cleans and finishes a wide range of wire and cable products. It’s used for cleaning aluminium and copper feeder wire before extrusion, preparing wire for continuous rotary extrusion by removing oxides, scale and lubricants, and removing graphite and heat scale from steel wire. It also creates uniform satin-like finishes for high-tech and memory wire, and produces a controlled non-specular (de-glared) finish on overhead power cables.
Key advantages are controllable, repeatable finishing delivered in-line for improved productivity versus off-line processes. Wet blasting suppresses dust, reduces heat and static build-up, and recycles water and media in a closed-loop system, while integrated rinsing and rapid drying leave wire and cable products clean and ready for the next production step.
