Consistent high quality finishing for hygienic surfaces

Whether a stainless steel surface is used in a medical setting or for the preparation of food you need to be certain it’s safe to use.

Typically, dry-blasting creates a surface with 1.3µm Ra – well above the European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group's (EHEDG) acceptable limit. However, wet blasting with glass beads leaves a surface roughness typically between 0.25 and 0.6µm Ra – the optimum surface Ra for perfect sterilisation.

Surface finishing for Aerospace, it’s where we began

When it comes to something as critical as a jet-engine, a surface finishing process that’s as reliable and repeatable as wet-blasting is essential.

Our systems are tried and tested with some of the largest names in aerospace with applications ranging from jet engine to aircraft wheel MRO.

In fact, it all began for us in the late 1940’s with Sir Frank Whittle and the development of the jet engine when Norman Ashworth developed the first wet-blasting machines to produce surface finishing of sufficient quality.
