ALUEXPO 2013 brought together the leading specialists from the aluminium industry, as well as 151 international companies from 32 countries that wanted to take advantage of the potential opportunities in Turkey. Aluexpo was over 8.468 m² exhibition stands held at a venue located close to the International airport in Istanbul. Over the 5 days we were able to showcase the Vapormatt technology with our Turkish agents ADA Trustar who had set up an impressive stand. 

For the 3rd time running EMO proved to be a successful show for Vapormatt with an increasing number of people coming to learn about our controlled wet blast process.

In what was a very busy show with several interesting and exciting developments in the field of metal working Vapormatt were able to add to the buzz with our programmable gun crown.

Vapormatt will demonstrate how its Lynx wet blasting system offers extruders a solution that will improve die success rates when it visits the ALUEXPO 2013 exhibition, which this year takes place at the Istanbul Expo Centre, Turkey, from 3rd to 6th October.

Vapormatt is to open a new sales and technical support centre in Thailand, extending its service to customers in Southeast Asia.  The new office will bring Vapormatt closer to companies within the region who require advice, systems and services from the global leaders in wet blasting technology, including all the latest knowhow and specialist maintenance to help keep their machines in optimum condition.

Having just arrived back from some successful trials in the States it seems appropriate to share some of the benefits that we were demonstrating with our process.

Using the Profelis we were asked to achieve a non-specular finish on some over ground power cables which, as I learnt recently, is a national standard across all federal land.

Increasingly cutting tool manufacturers are coming to Vapormatt as they want even greater control over their edge preparation processes.

With EMO only a few weeks away it seems timely that I shed some light on the importance of control when it comes to applying more challenging radii that are commonly known as “waterfall” or “trumpet” hones.

Bead blasting, shot blasting, grit blasting, sand blasting and vapour blasting are just some of the terms that customers use when describing what wet blasting process they have.

While these are all accurate enough it is important to understand the type of abrasive blast media that will be used in the process as this will have a very large affect on the wet blast process and ultimately finish.

Vapormatt has redesigned its high performance wet blasting system, the Jaguar, to further enhance performance.

With the August bank holiday looking to be perfect for boating and with very few points between the leaders it was set to be a good weekend for Nosferatu,  the Vapormatt sponsored powerboat; and, having had several podium positions throughout the season Nosferatu was in the favourite spot to pick up some championship medals.

Wet blasting is a highly effective process that combines compressed air, abrasive media and water in a slurry form to clean and prepare surfaces.  The water creates a lubricating effect which increases the flow of particles across the surface being treated.
