Wet blasting for aerospace at the SFM 2016 show

Vapormatt, the world’s leading wet blasting company, have recently appointed a new Agent in Mexico. MASSFIN Mexico offers surface treatment solutions to aerospace companies in Mexico including vibratory finishing and most recently, wet blasting. To celebrate the new partnership Vapormatt and MASSFIN are co-exhibiting at the Surface Finishing show being held in Queretaro from the 22nd to 24th of February.  

Exhibiting on booth 411 MASSFIN and Vapormatt will be showcasing their range of leading aerospace wet blasting machinery to users from both OEM and MRO markets. Mexico has one of the fastest growing aerospace markets in the world and is strategically placed to serve the airlines and operators of the Americas with MRO services and are also engaged with many OEM’s to support manufacturing.  

With several decades of experience Vapormatt been supplying controlled wet blasting machines to aerospace MRO markets across the globe. “Adopting a collaborative approach with both our customers and Agents allows us to better understand our markets the applications for wet blasting” comments David Clements, Vapormatt’s Business Development Engineer for the Americas.  

To date the wet blasting process has been specified by a number of aerospace OEMs and often supports or complements the vibro finishing process. “The addition of wet blasting to our portfolio greatly increases the support we can offer our customers” comments Nemanja Pesic, General Director of MASSFIN Mexico on the new appointment. “By focusing on surface preparation techniques that are relevant to the aerospace sector brings us closer to being the number one choice for MRO operators in Mexico” he concludes. 

By using a mixture of water, abrasive media and compressed air the wet blast process offers a consistent and repeatable abrasive process that can be used in a number of MRO operations. To date Vapormatt have sold a number of machines for aircraft wheel and brake refurbishment to preparing parts for NDT and wet peening of turbine blades to the preparation of composite components for bonding or lacquering.
