Aerospace component crack before and after wet blasting
The flowing nature of wet blasting (also known as vapor blasting, vapour blasting or aqua blasting) exposes cracks by cleaning them out, making them more visible during NDT, improving inspection accuracy, speed, and subsequent safety. In contrast, there is a danger of peening surfaces when dry blasting, which can conceal cracks. With our plastic media wet blast formula there is no risk of peening the surface. And unlike dry blasting, components don’t need to be cleaned and dried before wet blasting – saving a significant amount of time.
