This selection of blast nozzles suit the Vapormatt Mk1, 2 & 3 blast guns, the manifold gun, the type "G" gun and many other makes of blast gun.  The ideal material for a blast nozzle is boron carbide.  This has a hardness second only to diamond and is very lightweight; however it is friable and also expensive.  Alternatives (in decreasing wear resistance) are :-

Tungsten carbide which is much heavier than boron.

Hardened carbon steel - much cheaper than either boron or tungsten carbide.

Stainless steel - a similar price to carbon steel but non corrosive.

Increasing nozzle length increases the efficiency of the gun (the abrasive particles attain a higher velocity), and also marginally decreases the blast pattern.  However, long nozzles can be difficult to manoeuvre and are very delicate in boron carbide.  Vapormatt can supply any nozzle length required in tungsten carbide, carbon or stainless steel, the lengths shown are the most common.

Increasing nozzle bore increases the power of the gun, but note that the air jet must be matched to the bore and air consumption will increase.  Furthermore, slurry flow will increase and the pump and/or pipe work may not be large enough.  Vapormatt will be pleased to advise.

DESCRIPTION

This sight glass requires only a small area of vertical cabinet wall on which to mount it.  It can also double as a slurry sampling cock by removing the transparent tube.  The transparent tube is easily removable for replacement when frosted or for unblocking (which can occur if it is left dormant for a long period).  The calibrated label is only accurate if the standard length of transparent tube is used.  A guard is available to give external protection to the tube if required.
