and run by the third generation of the Ashworth family - the
originators of the pressure recirculatory wet blast process, who
have been accumulating experience and expertise in this field
for over fifty years. |
| |
| The Company designs and manufactures manual
and automatic surface cleaning, peening and finishing machines, using
the Vapormatt Wet Blast and High Pressure Water Systems.

The Process |
| |
|
Vapormatting
uses water and an abrasive medium accelerated from a nozzle with
compressed air to provide a very effective environmentally
friendly closed loop surface cleaning and conditioning process.
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
The abrasive particles used in the system can be as fine as talcum
powder but due to the water carrier, no dust or static electricity
is created, and the water buffers and lubricates the particles on
impact. allowing very fine finishes to be produced without damage
to the component.
|
|
| |
|
| Bio-degradable
degreasing compounds can be added to the water which further
extends the capability of the process - in a single operation
components can be degreased and super-finished. |

Filters built into the machine remove on a continuous cycle the
oil and blast debris. |
| |
|
| |
|
Many different types and sizes of abrasive media can be used; from
Ruby hard alumina to soft plastic.
