to clean and protect these small components. During disassembly the small items are collected in plastic buckets. Once filled, a bucket takes on the role of the barrel as it is loaded into the cleaning machine. An automatic blast and then rinse cycle takes place, leaving the contents clean for inspection and re-use.
The effective Vapormatt Wet Blast Cleaning Process is a form of aggravated washing using a combination of water, mild detergent and spherical glass beads to remove surface contaminants. Because of the moderating effects of the slurry system, wet blasting, unlike conventional dry blasting, preserves delicate edges, threads, and plated surfaces. Barrel blasting in small machines like the 1000, or in larger units, can be used for many other applications. These include processing of drill and milling cutters |

| Also, processing metal components prior to rubber bonding, processing plastic components to prepare surfaces for excellent paint adhesion - an unusual example of this is the cleaning of golf balls - cleaning gun magazines, simultaneous removal of ceramic resist from last wax castings, and fine finishing for cosmetic purposes. A particular benefit over conventional sand blasting in the latter application is that no abrasive is impregnated into the surface. Impregnated hard abrasive in soft aluminium or brass castings plays havoc during subsequent machining operations. | ||||
