Vapormatt have now become market leaders in replacing existing highly toxic and expensive chemical cleaning methods, commonly used in the Jewellery trade, with their wet blast process.

A compact special-purpose Vapormatt Machine has been developed to remove heat treatment oxides, and lacquer, oil and grease, from wire, rod and strip. The unit has been designed to fit into the wire drawing or rod production line.

To reduce the use of chemicals and the dangers and costs involved with high pressure cleaning systems, Vapormatt after considerable development work, have perfected and now introduced our environmentally friendly and safe cleaning and stripping system for the removal of abradable coatings.

To enable successful bonding of like to like composites, and indeed, composites to other normally incompatible materials, Vapormatt have developed - using their Patented Slurry / Air Pumping System, a unique way of surgically cleaning with simultaneous keying of composite surfaces without damage to fibres or the “lay-up” of the composite.

To reduce the damage caused by soft shot blast cleaning of extrusion dies, Vapormatt have developed a Die Cleaning System using a mixture of water, fine aluminous oxide, and compressed air, which does little or no damage to sharp edges and fine profiles.

The vacuum pump overhaul industry typically depends upon harsh chemical and detergent washing systems, followed by either hand scrubbing or dry blasting to clean pump components. In addition many of these pumps contain high level contaminants which have to be handled in clean room conditions.  Vapormatt have been successful in replacing and improving these traditional cleaning methods with a combination of the Vapormatt Liquid Abrasive Process, along with High Pressure Hot Water which is used for general purpose cleaning and degreasing when abrasive scrubbing is either not required or undesirable.

Wet blasting is well known within the orthopaedic manufacturing world as the accepted procedure for surface finishing of prosthetic components, due to a number of advantages over other finishing techniques.

Peening and Wet Peening

Any part subject to twisting or bending stress is likely to benefit from peening.  The process is ideal when applied to irregular shapes where heat treatments may cause distortion.  It is ideal for the treatment of fillets, grooves or unsupported edges or anywhere where sudden changes in form occur.  (Such changes are commonly noted as fatigue fracture causes).
