Aircraft Toilet Cleaning
Overhaul of aircraft toilet systems is a time consuming, unpleasant, but necessary task for those involved in airline support and maintenance.

Current methods of overhaul involve lengthy chemical soaking of assemblies and components prior to further cleaning and repair operations, the chemical soaking operation is often as long as 24 hours.

The health and safety of maintenance staff is paramount, but this consideration has to be balanced with the need for an efficient method for overhaul of toilet system parts.

Any new method of overhaul and cleaning of toilet system assemblies and parts would be required to meet all current requirements and offer benefits in health and safety and also in time reduction of the overhaul process.

The Vapormatt Process

Vapormatt Limited have applied their wet blasting expertise and technology to this difficult task and found that dramatic savings in cleaning time can be achieved by using the Vapormatt Process. Improvements to the surface finish of the cleaned parts have also been noted and the bio-hazard exposure risk is greatly reduced.

Utilising a fully enclosed wet blasting cabinet, an operator is able to process components without direct contact with the parts or contamination; the gauntlet gloves enable the operator to use hand tools to perform disassembly within the cabinet if required, the brightly illuminated machine interior and large viewing window / door assist in this operation.

Blasting of the components also takes place within the cabinet; the advantage of a wet blasting system is the ability to add biocide and degreasing additives to the process water. Utilising stainless steel abrasive media gives long service life of the media and little breakdown through use.
